General Directorate of Biodiversity and Combating Desertification
Tasks and Responsibilities:
1. Reviewing policies, legislations، rules, strategies and regulatory frameworks related to biodiversity, forests, pastures, national parks and combating desertification.
2. Reviewing plans and implementation mechanisms proposed on biodiversity, forests, rangeland, national parks, and combat desertification.
3. Reviewing and ensuring effectiveness and suitability of programs and procedures for the implementation of strategies and plans related to biodiversity, forests, rangeland, national parks, and combat desertification.
4. Reviewing the studies and research on wildlife, rangeland, forests, national parks and combating desertification.
5. Overseeing procedures for protecting, monitoring and developing pasturelands public forests, as well as sustainable environmental management and conservation.
6. Overseeing procedures for protecting, monitoring and developing national parks, as well as sustainable environmental management, and investment opportunities to support the ecotourism.
7. Reviewing the mechanisms for identifying and f pursuing privatization and investment opportunities in the areas of biodiversity and national parks in coordination with the relevant organizational units in the Ministry.
8. Performing any other tasks assigned.
