Overview:
The National Center for Research and Water Studies is responsible for information management and the collection of studies, researches, and data on water resources in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia with the aim of becoming a unified center to be brought in line with the Kingdom's policy which complies with the latest standards and metrology, as well as international quality standards. Also, it aims to serve as a reference for all the kingdom's facilities and decision-makers as well until it becomes an independent reliable center that has its own identity, policy and methodology.

• Water Research and Studies Directorate.
• National Database Directorate
Laws and Regulations:
• Work is currently underway to formulate a law for preservation of data on water in the Kingdom.
• Work is currently underway to develop an executive regulation for the exchange of data, information, research and water studies.
Tasks and Responsibilities:
The National Center for Water Research and Studies consists of two directorates as follows:
1) Water Research and Studies Directorate:
This directorate is responsible for developing frameworks for water research and studies as well as participating in international forums and conferences related to water, in addition to controlling the collection of researches and studies on water resources.
2) National Database Directorate:
This directorate is responsible for maximizing the utilization of data and information on water, and then saving and processing such data and information in an independent national database that contains all data and information of different water sources in the Kingdom. It is also responsible for managing the requests of researchers, universities and related parties to provide them with the water data and information they need.

1) Completed projects:
o Inventory of water resources in the Kingdom.
Water data collection (dams – water wells - rainfall- hydrological stations - sewage networks – water well drilling licenses - desalinated water networks ... etc).

2) Projects under implementation:
o Attracting international companies to build the national database.
o Publishing the Center’s quarterly journal.
o Lunching the official website of the National Center for Water Research and Studies.
