Launch of the Green Fodder Forum in Argentina

The Green Fodder forum was launched yesterday in Buenos Aires, the capital city of Argentina. The four-day Forum organized by the Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture was attended by Minister of Agriculture, Livestock and Fisheries of Argentina Dr. Luis Miguel, Saudi Deputy Minister for Agriculture Eng. Ahmed AlAiadh, and the Saudi Ambassador to Argentina Eng. Riyadh Al-Khonaini, with the participation of the Agricultural Development Fund and leading Saudi and Argentine companies in the agricultural industry, and the Saudi Center for Strategic International Partnerships

In addressing the Forum, Dr. Luis Miguel welcomed the idea of setting up this Forum to strengthen the partnership between Saudi and Argentine companies in fodder industry, hoping to develop very fruitful cooperation between both countries and a very strong and long-term relationship with Saudi Arabian companies. Dr. Luis stressed the capacity of the agricultural sector in Argentina to provide high-quality green fodder at competitive prices to meet the Saudi market demand.

"This forum comes within the Ministry's efforts to provide fodder in the domestic market, and to ensure that there is no shortage of fodder following the implementation of the Council of Ministers' Resolution No. 66 dated 25/2/1437 to stop the cultivation of green fodder.", AlAiadh said.

"The forum confirms Saudi Arabia's deep relationship with Argentina, as it enjoys support from HRH Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense and the President of the Argentine Republic Mauricio Macri.", AlAiadh added.

He also said that given the great demand for the Saudi fodder market, exporting fodder to the Kingdom is considered a good investment opportunity to deepen economic and trade ties and increase trade exchange between the two countries.

"the Saudi fodder market is promising, as it is expected to import more than (4) million tons, and we look forward to positive Forum's outputs for both parties to meet our objectives of exporting fodder to the Kingdom and contribute to the economic growth of the agricultural sector in Argentina.", he added.

After the opening ceremony, the forum began with a presentation by the Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture, the Agricultural Development Fund and some Saudi and Argentine companies, followed by Bilateral meetings between members of the two delegations to discuss investment opportunities of exporting fodder to the Kingdom.

It's noteworthy that the Saudi delegation attended the forum is composed of representatives of the Agricultural Development Fund, Saudi Agricultural and Livestock Investment Company (SALIC), The National Agricultural Development Company (Nadec), AlJouf Agricultural Development Company, Tabuk Agricultural Development Company, Al-Rajhi International for Investment, Anaam International Holding Company, Tala Investment Company, Jenan International Company, Al Baida Group and the Cooperative Association for Livestock in Burydah.
