His Excellency Minister of Environment, Water and Agriculture Abdulrahman Abdulmohsen A. AlFadley extended thanks to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, and HRH Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense, on the Council of Ministers' approval on the Saudi Grains Organization's strategy.
AlFadley said in a statement that the Council's approval reflects the ongoing efforts of the Saudi wise leadership to realize the goals of progress and prosperity.
AlFadley pointed out that the Strategy meets the requirements of the grain sector and food security. Adding that the Strategy is also in line with the objectives of the Saudi Vision 2030 and its strategic programs, mainly the implementation plan of the food security strategy, which the Council of Ministers approved and assigned the Saudi Grains Organization (SAGO) with the task of overseeing its implementation.
For his part, HE. Ahmad bin Abdulaziz Al-Fares, Governor of SAGO, said that the Strategy addresses the formulation and elaboration of the future role of the SAGO through conducting comparative and analytical study, and developing a general strategy that takes into account the institutional and economic impact, and the impact on employment and capacity-building. He added that the Strategy aims to achieve key objectives, including designing an effective and flexible organizational structure, developing specialist workforce, adopting advanced technical solutions, enhancing the sector's resilience, and ensuring data transparency and reliability and effective governance of the sector.
