The Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture (MEWA) has launched the fifth phase of the "Green Qassim" initiative to plant 100,000 trees, covering many cities and governorates of the Qassim region.

MEWA pointed out that the phase aims to plant 5000 trees at Qaasim University this week for a start, and to create a planted forest inside the university campus using the treated water from the university station, pointing out that more than 10,000 trees of different species have been already planted in the university facilities.

Under the guidance of His Highness the Emir of Qassim, the preparation for this campaign has begun after the four phases of the initiative were completed by planting more than 300 thousand trees.

MEWA confirmed that the fifth phase aims to plant about 100,000 saplings in the cities, governorates and centers of the region, God willing.
