 MEWA Bans Importation of Live Birds, Hatching Eggs, and Chicks from Nepal



The Ministry of Environment, Water, and Agriculture has temporarily banned the importation of live birds, hatching eggs, and chicks from Nepal. "The temporary import ban was imposed after studying the veterinary health conditions in all countries of the world, and the bulletin issued by the World Organization for Animal Health (OIE) which reports the emergence of avian influenza reported in Nepal", The Director-General of the Department of Animal Resource Risk Assessment Dr. Sanad AlHarbi stated.

In anticipation of the disease spared to Saudi Arabia and for the public interest, the Director-General of the General Department for Quarantines Dr. Osama AlSaleh clarified that the decision on application of precautionary measures has been circulated to all quarantines.
