The Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture has obtained the international ISO 42001:2025 certification for Artificial Intelligence Management Systems (AIMS), marking a global achievement and positioning it among the first ministries in the Kingdom to receive this recognition. This accomplishment highlights the Ministry’s excellence in applying comprehensive standards and practices related to AI governance and management within its work environment, and its commitment to utilizing emerging technologies responsibly and securely, in line with the goals of Saudi Vision 2030.
Obtaining this certification crowns the Ministry’s efforts to implement the standard’s requirements and build an integrated AI governance framework, including risk assessment, transparency, accountability, compliance with laws and regulations, and ensuring safe and efficient use of AI technologies to support decision-making, enhance productivity, and improve sustainability across its sectors.
Over the past years, the Ministry has implemented numerous pioneering and innovative projects to advance digital transformation within its domains. These initiatives included the use of AI-based predictive models, satellite imagery analysis, and the development of intelligent digital monitoring platforms—reinforcing its leadership in leveraging and governing emerging technologies.
