The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is participating in the Qatar International Agricultural Exhibition "AgriteQ 2026" as a guest of honor at the 13th edition of the exhibition.
The event, which launched today at the Katara Cultural Village, was attended by a high-level delegation led by His Excellency the Minister of Environment, Water and Agriculture, Eng. Abdulrahman Abdulmohsen Alfadley, alongside various international officials.
On the sidelines of the exhibition, the Saudi delegation showcased the Kingdom's efforts to enhance the agricultural self-sufficiency, highlighting the role of the private sector in supporting sustainable agriculture. Several national companies specializing in date production and processing also participated.
The Kingdom presented progress in self-sufficiency benchmarks, demonstrating a reduced reliance on foreign imports such as dates 118%, eggs 101%, vegetables 78%, poultry 69%, and fish 61.5%.
To elevate the quality and safety standards of national produce, the Kingdom- represented by the Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture has introduced four distinct food quality marks. Designed to bolster competitiveness on both local and international stages, these marks include Organic, SAMAQ, Saudi Dates and Saudi GAP.
Represented by the Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture, the National Center for Palms and Dates, and several specialized firms, the Saudi pavilion offers a comprehensive look at the nation's agricultural evolution.
AgriteQ 2026 will take place from February 12 to 16, 2026 at Katara Cultural Village, bringing together government entities, private sector stakeholders in agricultural sector.
