The head of the founding team of the Global Water Organization, Dr. Fahd bin Saad Abu Muti stressed the necessity of global collaboration to tackle water-related challenges. He highlighted the organization's dedication to this cause, noting the world community's keenness to action internationally for comprehensive water solutions.
This came during the meetings held on the sidelines of the Tenth World Water Forum, which was held in Indonesia, on May 18-28, 2024. Many heads of state, ministers, and officials from 180 countries and 250 international organizations participated in this forum.
Dr. Abu Muti stated that the Global Water Organization is seeking to achieve comprehensive solutions in the water sector. Our mission involves fostering collaboration among governments, NGOs, and private entities to enhance water management, conservation, and sustainability. He also highlighted that these meetings, held alongside the forum, are part of a series of preparatory steps to discuss joint work mechanisms among member states.
The Global Water Organization, headquartered in Riyadh, was announced by His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al-Saud, Crown Prince and Prime Minister in September 2023. This initiative underscores the Kingdom's leadership in tackling global water challenges and its commitment to environmental sustainability as well as Saudi Arabia's efforts to put water issues on the international agenda.
