The Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture revealed that the number of agricultural activities that were recorded in the Tabuk region reached 8132 agricultural activities within the first phase of the "Agricultural Activity Survey" project carried out by the Ministry in cooperation with King Abdul Aziz City for Science and Technology aiming at developing the agricultural sector, promoting food security, achieving sustainable development and opening up for diversified investments.
The Ministry mentioned that the agricultural activities were distributed as follows: 1099 central irrigation machine activities, 2867 general agriculture activities, 253 greenhouse activities, 1562 permanent tree activities, 25 nursery activities, 1474 well activities, 594 animal resource activities, 3 fish resource activities , 123 bird and poultry activities, 2 beekeeping activities, 4 Ministry buildings and facilities and finally 133 stores, shops and laboratories.
The Ministry pointed out that the objectives of the "Agricultural Activity Survey" project is to record the majority of agricultural and animal activities in the Kingdom, to build spatial databases, to carry out field surveys of agricultural and animal activities and to collect, save and analyze information as well as fully unifying work environment of databases systems to be fully compatible with technical work environment available at the Ministry, and ensure the suitability and integration of existing or future projects carried out by the Ministry at the level of geospatial, noting that the second phase of the project will start in the city of Riyadh Soon.
