The Ministry of Environment, Water, and Agriculture has announced a high abundance of livestock supply across the Kingdom, ensuring that the surging demand for Adahi during the upcoming Hajj season 1447H will be fully and seamlessly met.
The Ministry stressed that the local livestock sector is a key contributor to food security and increasing self-sufficiency. This is achieved through sustainable livestock development and effective veterinary health systems designed to prevent disease outbreaks and ensure high-quality production.
According to the latest official data, the Kingdom's current livestock inventory comprises over 22 million sheep, more than 7.6 million goats, over 2.2 million camels, and 510,000 cattle.
MEWA confirmed that local markets and slaughterhouses, particularly in Makkah, are fully prepared and equipped to accommodate pilgrims.
To maintain standards during the holy season, authorities have intensified inspections and regulatory monitoring across public markets, slaughterhouses, and related facilities to ensure adherence to health requirements and efficient operations.
