The markets are seeing increased activity as locally grown agricultural produce and seasonal fruits reach consumers across the Kingdom, with peaches emerging as one of the country's key domestic crops.
According to the Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture, annual local peach production exceeds 31,000 tons, supplying retail markets with strong consumer demand due to its quality and distinctive flavor.
The ministry said the fruit is being highlighted as part of its Summer Campaign, which aims to promote seasonal fruits and strengthen the marketing ecosystem for domestic agricultural products.
The peaches are cultivated primarily in Tabuk, Al Jouf, Aseer, and Al Baha, regions known for their favorable growing conditions. The ministry noted that the crop is also recognized for its wide range of local varieties.
The ministry added that it is also working to strengthen supply chains and marketing channels by organizing seasonal initiatives and local exhibitions, helping national products reach consumers more efficiently while supporting the goals of Saudi Vision 2030 to increase food security and promote sustainable agricultural development.
The Summer Campaign aims to promote awareness of the wide range of locally produced fruits and their seasonal availability throughout the year. It seeks to encourage the consumption of national products, improve quality and safety standards, educate consumers about seasonal fruit options, and enhance the efficiency of marketing locally produced fruits during harvest seasons.
