The Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture is emphasizing the importance of raising students' awareness about protecting natural resources, saying the start of the new school year provides an opportunity to instill environmental awareness and strengthen responsibility toward those resources.
The ministry urged students to adopt positive habits both inside and outside the classroom, including turning off water faucets tightly after use to help conserve water, disposing of waste in designated areas, using reusable water bottles, and avoiding food waste by taking only what they need.
Such everyday practices can help conserve natural resources, reduce waste and promote sustainability, the ministry said. It added that strengthening environmental awareness among students can help prepare a generation that better understands the importance of protecting natural resources, in line with the goals of Vision 2030 to advance sustainable development and improve quality of life.
The ministry also noted that promoting these behaviors among students can have an impact across society by spreading a culture of resource conservation, encouraging sustainable practices and improving resource management.
These efforts can contribute to protecting ecosystems and ensuring that natural resources remain sustainable for future generations.
