The Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Nutanix, a leading provider of cloud computing and AI solutions, to enhance cooperation in several technology areas. The MoU aims to develop the Ministry's digital infrastructure, advances cybersecurity efforts, and build national technical skills, in line with the objectives of digital transformation and Saudi Vision 2030.
The agreement was signed on the sidelines of LEAP 2026, held at the Riyadh Exhibition and Convention Center. On behalf of the Ministry, the MoU was signed by Deputy Minister for Information Technology and Digital Transformation Dr. Abdulhameed Aleliwi, and Nutanix was represented by its Regional Director in Saudi Arabia, Talal Alsaif.
The MoU reflects the Ministry's efforts to strengthen cooperation between the government sector and global technology expertise. It focuses on modernizing hybrid cloud infrastructure, enabling seamless operations across data centers and diverse cloud environments, and ensuring business continuity. In addition to enhancing cyber defense readiness, transfer knowledge, and develop national capabilities in hybrid cloud computing, supporting knowledge sustainability and technology localization.
Dr. Aleliwi affirmed that the cooperation will open new opportunities to support the Ministry's digital infrastructure, strengthen business continuity, and harness promising national capabilities in advanced cloud computing and AI technologies. He noted that digital transformation in Saudi Arabia is a key pillar for delivering robust and flexible government services that are fundamentally data-driven.
Nutanix's Regional Director said the MoU reflects the company's commitment to supporting partnerships with the Saudi government sector by providing modern and flexible technology infrastructure that simplifies the management of hybrid and multi-cloud computing environments, provide a strong foundation for adopting emerging technologies, particularly AI, and contribute to knowledge transfer and the development of national technical talent.
