The Ministry of Environment, Water, and Agriculture has called on Hajj pilgrims to practice compassion and gentleness when handling Udhiyah (sacrifice) during the upcoming Hajj 1447 H season.
The Ministry emphasized that humane treatment aligns directly with Islamic teachings, which strictly advocate for animal welfare and forbid causing unnecessary distress. Beyond the religious and ethical obligations, proper handling is also crucial for maintaining public health and ensuring the quality and safety of the meat.
It highlighted several key guidelines to support proper animal welfare practices, including providing sufficient space for housing animals, ensuring access to adequate food and water, health monitoring, and ensuring safe transportation.
The Ministry concluded by urging all pilgrims and community members to follow these veterinary and health guidelines strictly, noting that collective awareness will ensure a safe, healthy, and fulfilling Hajj for all.
