The Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture has emphasized that providing specialized financing solutions to support the expansion of organic farming is a key enabler for enhancing the sustainability of agricultural production, improving project efficiency, and stimulating investment in the sector. The ministry noted contributes to achieving food security objectives and supports the goals of Saudi Vision 2030.
This came during a workshop organized by the ministry titled “Review and Discussion of the Organic Farming Loan Product," in cooperation with the Agricultural Development Fund, and attended by more than 30 farmers, investors, and stakeholders in the organic agriculture sector from various regions across the Kingdom.
The workshop brought together representatives from a range of organic agricultural and livestock production activities, including vegetables, dates, olives, and fruits, as well as beekeepers and livestock breeders. The event reflected the ministry's commitment to strengthening engagement with beneficiaries and listening to their feedback and suggestions regarding the financing product and mechanisms for accessing it.
The workshop concluded with an emphasis on the importance of continued cooperation and integration between the Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture, the Agricultural Development Fund, and sector partners, alongside efforts to further develop initiatives and programs supporting organic farming. This would help strengthen the sustainability of agricultural production and achieve the Kingdom's agricultural development and food security goals.
