More than 1.2 million mango trees across Saudi Arabia are supplying local markets with their harvest during the production season, generating more than 105,000 tons annually to meet growing consumer demand.
The abundant production also supports the food processing sector, contributes to self-sufficiency, and strengthens food security.
The Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture said, as part of its Summer Campaign aimed at raising awareness of seasonal fruits and improving the marketing of local produce during peak harvest periods, that the mango season begins in April and continues through August each year.
Mango cultivation is concentrated in several regions, most notably Jazan, Makkah, Al-Baha, Tabuk, Asir, Najran and Madinah.
The ministry said it continues to support farmers through technical guidance and extension services, financing facilities, and the expanded use of modern agricultural technologies to improve production efficiency and quality.
It also works to strengthen supply chains and marketing through seasonal programs and local exhibitions to ensure Saudi products reach consumers quickly and efficiently.
