Saudi Arabia and the Russian Federation have signed 13 strategic agreements and memoranda of understanding valued at SAR 4.8 billion, aimed at expanding trade and investment cooperation and advancing collaboration in key industrial and food security sectors.
The signing ceremony took place on the sidelines of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum, where Saudi Arabia participated as a guest of honor. The agreements were witnessed by the Vice Minister of Environment, Water and Agriculture (MEWA), Eng. Mansour Almushaiti emphasized that the agreements reflect MEWA's continued efforts to localize advanced biotechnology, enhance food security, and ensure the sustainability of supply chains, in alignment with the objectives of Saudi Vision 2030.
He noted that the agreements and MoUs signed during the Kingdom's participation at the forum covered several strategic areas, including the localization and manufacturing of veterinary vaccines to strengthen animal health and biosecurity, as well as the development and expansion of broiler poultry and exporting Saudi seafood products to support self-sufficiency and sustainable domestic production.
The forum also witnessed the signing of agreements to market and export camel milk products and derivatives to Russian and global markets, as well as an agreement to export Saudi coffee products. In addition, a cooperation agreement was concluded covering the production, exchange, and distribution of soft drinks between the two sides.
Al-Mushaiti stressed that Saudi Arabia's participation in the forum reflects the strength of its strategic partnership with Russia, highlighting the forum as an important platform for knowledge exchange and for exploring new investment opportunities in the environment, water, and agriculture sectors.
