The Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture has called on the public to conserve water as higher summer temperatures increase water demand, emphasizing that responsible consumption is essential to protecting the Kingdom's water resources and strengthening long-term water security.
MEWA said efficient water use plays a critical role in preserving and developing water resources, advancing sustainable water management, and supporting the objectives of Saudi Vision 2030.
Simple measures such as repairing leaks, installing water-saving devices, turning off faucets after use, and adopting efficient irrigation methods such as drip irrigation can help reduce water waste and improve water-use efficiency.
The ministry stressed that safeguarding water resources is a shared responsibility requiring the participation of individuals, as well as government agencies, private-sector organizations, and nonprofit institutions. It said greater public awareness and the adoption of responsible water-use habits will help reinforce the Kingdom's water security, maximize the efficient use of available resources, protect natural assets, and ensure their sustainability for future generations.
