The Law of Fisheries and Aquaculture Resources Investment and Protection in KSA Territorial Waters was issued by virtue of the Cabinet Resolution no. 14, dated 21/1/1408H, that was approved by the Royal Decree no. M/9, dated 27/3/1408H.
As per this Resolution, the Ministry of Agriculture was assigned the responsibility of supervising fish resources development through drawing the general policies, and planning and designing long- and short-term programs for developing fish resources, as well as forming the bodies and issuing the bylaws necessary for bringing this objective into effect.
• The bylaw of the Law of Fisheries and Aquaculture Investment and Protection in KSA Territorial Water was issued as per the Minister of Agriculture's Decision no. 21911, dated 27/3/1409H.
• The MOA Undersecretariat of Fish Resources was established as per the Ministerial Decision no. 6/7/64488, dated 25/8/1413H, corresponding to 16/2/1992.
• The Undersecretariat issues annual statistics on fish resources in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
• A detailed statistical book is issued to serve the studies and research related to the Undersecretariat.
